R4Risk is a proud decade-long sponsor of ProSafe! In 2019, we were the Gold sponsor of the 11th annual ProSafe conference, that was held on 21 to 23 August 2019 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

There was a pre-event to kick-start the conference. A safety site tour was held at Melbourne Water’s Treatment Plant. This was then followed by networking drinks and dinner. The conference mainly covered the process safety landscape, current and upcoming regulations, risk management practices and insights from local and global industry leaders.

Lachlan Dreher (Director and Principal Risk Consultant) presented on the morning of Day One of ProSafe. His presentation was about the use of bowtie diagrams in risk management and on striking a suitable balance to maximise the value gained. In his presentation, Lachlan  discussed:

• Common mistakes made when preparing bowtie diagrams
• Balancing complexity versus simplicity
• How to best utilise bowtie diagrams.
