Following on from Elio Stocco’s presentation at HAZARDS Australasia in 2018, the Risk Engineering Society (RES) invited R4Risk to present at one of their events. The aim of the RES is to promote risk engineering, communicate and share lessons learned, facilitate collaboration between members and risk professionals and provide expert advice to stakeholders.
The same concepts in Elio’s presentation at HAZARDS Australasia was presented again in October by Lachlan Dreher (Director and Principal Risk Consultant). The presentation was scheduled on 29 October 2018 at the Engineers Australia WA Auditorium. His presentation, ‘Importance of Effective Emergency Management and Response Strategy’, included:
- Examples of major incidents that resulted from inadequate response strategies
- Systematic approach to developing and implementing effective emergency response strategies
- Other key elements required for an effective emergency response strategy such as assessing the availability and capability of emergency response resources.
