2017 - New Zealand Petroleum Conference (Opportunities and Pitfalls in Safety Case Development)

The New Zealand Petroleum Conference is New Zealand’s leading upstream oil and gas event. The 2017 conference was held in New Plymouth. Alongside other international keynote speakers, Lachlan Dreher (Director and Principal Risk Consultant) presented in the Technology & Engineering Stream of the conference.

The objectives of a Safety Case are to reduce the likelihood of a major incident occurring and reduce the consequences associated with a major accident if it does occur. Lachlan’s presentation discussed the observations drawn from many years of consulting experience assisting a range of hazardous facilities to develop safety cases across a wide range of industries, which focused on key opportunities and pitfalls through the process.
